If you saved your original Armani packaging, Armani sculptures travel best when ensconced in their original form inserts that fit perfectly in the original Armani presentation box. Then the box should be wrapped in bubble wrap, put in a larger corrugated box, and taped shut for shipping. Or, put original Armani packaging holding your figurine/sculpture in a larger corrugated box, surrounded by Styrofoam peanuts, and taped shut for shipping. Whether you use bubble wrap or Styrofoam peanuts make sure that the interior space of your second box is full so that your collectible does not rattle around or move during handling.
If you did not save your original Armani packaging, you can contract a specialty packaging store near you to do the packing and shipping for you. These stores have the correct packing materials at their finger tips and use nationally-known shippers. The carriers of choice are UPS, Federal Express, DHL, or USPS.
You can find however the same packing materials at the national stationary and office supply chains and do it yourself for a fraction of what a packaging/shipping store charges.
Here are the supplies you will typically need besides a pen and a pair of scissors:
Make sure you find a sturdy and large enough corrugated box to accommodate your collectible. Use a box three times the volume of the item. Layer your piece lightly in plenty of bubble wrap and tape the ends. Fill the bottom third of your taped box with Styrofoam peanuts and position your collectible in the center of the box. Add more Styrofoam peanuts around it until the entire box is totally filled. Shake the box carefully to compact the Styrofoam and add more if needed. Enclose a sheet with the shipping and return address. Close the flaps of your box and tape all ends carefully.
Write with a large felt tip marker on each site of the box the following:
FRAGILE - TOP LOAD ONLY
GLASS - DO NOT DROP
Affix your shipping label with shipping and return address with clear tape so to protect it from moisture. Insure your shipment for the full replacement value while at the shipping counter of your carrier.
